Title: "The American Ph.D. Study Experience"
Abstract: This presentation will compare the American with the German Ph.D. model and student experience. We will discuss the general philosophy of doctoral study programs and basic principles. In particular, we will focus on the model in the American Business Schools and address the specific issues regarding the application process, the funding model, teaching services, curriculum model, the research process and dissertation work. We will also talk about preparing for the job market and the interview process and conclude with the transition from Ph.D. to faculty life and career.
